Ki Jung Do – Basic Terminology
Ki: Defines the life, body, and energy Jung: Right or Righteous DO: Art or way.
Meaning: Using or living your life's energy in the right or righteous way. Embodying the philosophy of no wasted time movement
or energy. Living and moving with purpose.
Developed from the foundation of Taekwon Do, Hapkido, Aikido, Kempo Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Capoeiro, gymnastics, Kick Boxing, Combat Wu Shu, and modifications of cross fit and yoga.
Class Terms
Charyot: Attention Sobum – Nim – Ke – Kyong – Ye: Bow to head instructor
Kyong – Ye: Bow Bo – Sabum – Nim – Ke – Kyong – Ye: Bow to assistant instructor
Class Etiquette
Bow as you enter and or as you are leaving the gym. Face the gym when bowing.
Bow to the head instructor and the assistant instructors after you have entered the gym and as you are leaving the gym.
Address all Black Belts, and any senior students who are serving as instructor, as “Sir” or “Ma’am”.
Uniform must be kept clean at all times.
Always face away from the senior belts when fixing your uniform or belt.
No jewelry may be worn during class.
Foul language or disruptive behavior by students are not allowed or tolerated in the gym.
Students should never leave the gym for a break, for water, or for an early dismissal without permission.
No spectators in gym during practice. Exception will be first class, demonstrations, and tournaments.

1. I will observe and live by the tenets of the Hidden Dragon Martial Arts Academy.
2. I will respect all including myself.
3. I will never misuse martial arts to achieve selfish ends.
